Online Lottery

Online Lottery

The Online Lottery is a lottery played in 21 states. It is available both online and through semi-online sales, and is limited to a few games. However, it is a good option for new operators with limited resources. Depending on the features you want to offer, a white label lottery platform provider can help you create a basic online lottery website in a short period of time. However, these providers are limited in the markets they serve, and their offerings may not be as diverse as those of other operators in the market.

Online Lottery is played in 21 states

Online Lottery has become popular in several US states. While only a handful of states currently offer online lottery play, more are expected to follow suit.

It is limited to a few games

The online lottery was first launched in Minnesota in 2015. Unfortunately, the Minnesota legislature voted to stop operating the lottery in 2015. Luckily, there are similar retailers in other states that sell lottery tickets online.

It is played on Wednesdays and Saturdays

The Lottery draws take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 8:59 PM Mountain Time. The drawing is broadcast live on the Lottery website, player hotline at (505) 342-PLAY and on television. Players can also view the winning numbers in the drawing videos online.

It is legal in the US

While lottery laws differ between states, online lottery games are legal in the US. The Wire Act, which bans online gambling, does not apply to online lotteries, and the federal government has interpreted it to only apply to sports betting. This has helped open the door for online lotteries to operate, and online lottery sales began in Illinois in March 2012. Today, online lottery sales are legal in seven states, including the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. While legal in the US, online lottery games are not widespread yet.
